Fortnight for Freedom is a national campaign for religious liberty meant to fortify Catholics in the face of the current and any future attacks on our religious freedom – not just as Catholics – but as American citizens.
Archbishop Robert J. Carlson has asked all parishes in our archdiocese to join parishes across the country to participate in this special two-week period of prayer, fasting and catechesis, from June 21-July 4. Please join us in this very important cause. You are invited to visit this website (fortnight4freedom.org) to learn about the campaign.
Events for Fortnight for Freedom include:
Monsignor Michael Witt will be celebrating the 9 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 23rd and there will be a coffee and donuts reception afterwards. Monsignor Witt is an Associate Professor of Church History at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, Pastor of All Saints Parish in University City and is frequently a guest on EWTN, 1460 Radio.
Call to Prayer - In this Year of Faith, the Catholic Bishops of the United States have called for a nationwide effort to advance a movement for Life, Marriage, and Religious Liberty through prayer, penance, and sacrifice. Catholics across the nation are being encouraged to pray for rebuilding a culture favorable to life and marriage and for increased protections of religious liberty. This call to prayer is prompted by unprecedented challenges to the Church and the nation, particularly the HHS Mandate and current trends in government and culture toward redefining marriage. The goal of this call to prayer is twofold: (1) to increase awareness of these challenges and (2) to build spiritual stamina and fortitude among the faithful so that we can be effective and joyful witnesses of faith, hope, and charity and agents of the New Evangelization. Please consider making a monthly Eucharistic Holy Hour; praying the rosary daily with your family and friends; and fasting and abstaining from meat on Fridays. Join the movement! Pray for our nation. Pray for life, marriage and religious liberty.
Rosary Crusade for Religious Liberty. Please join your fellow parishioners in praying the rosary on Sunday, June 30th, at the 7:30; 9:00 and 11 a.m. Masses, for the intentions of religious liberty and our country.

Our Mission Statement
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is the People of God gathered and united as a family through celebration of the liturgy, the study of Scripture and the pursuit of our mutual goal: eternal life.
Our parish mission is to pray, to study, to teach and to serve as Jesus did. We strive to love one another so that we all rejoice in times of joy, share in times of prosperity, give comfort in times of stress and help in times of need. Relying on the Providence of God and asking for guidance of the Holy Spirit, we continue Christ's mission on earth through our parish ministries - giving generously of ourselves, our blessings and our talents. Through such gifting, we build up the Body of Christ in our parish, in our community, in our archdiocese and in our world.
