Members meet quarterly to oversee financial aspects of the OLOL Endowment Funds invested with the Archdiocese and to educate parishioners in donating to the Funds. You may make a donation to the endowment fund through online giving or through the rectory.

An opportunity to create a lasting impact on our parish community.

Q: What is the Endowment Fund?

A: The fund was created to ensure the upkeep and improvement of Our Lady of Lourdes’ parish property and to provide for a long-term stability and enhancement of the parish’s educational purposes. Neither the principal nor income of the fund can be expended for tuition remission or financial aid.

Q: Who decides how the Endowment Fund is invested?

A: The fund is monitored by the Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment Committee consists of four parishioners plus the pastor.

Contributions to the fund are invested prudent through the Catholic Endowment Fund of the Archdiocese of St. Louis under the careful supervision of investment professional. Donations are retained within the fund and used to earn interest. Fund expenditures are limited to on-half of the interest earned by the fund.

Q: Why should I invest in the Endowment Fund?

A: For many Parishioners, the fund is a way to invest in the future education and spirituality of their children and grandchildren. For others, it is a way to recognize that our parish is a charity worthy of receiving contributions in the same way as other charities.

Q: What if I can’t afford to make a cash donation at this time? 
A: The fund has the ability to receive assets by gift, will, bequest, charitable trust, charitable gift annuity, life insurance, real estate and personal property including stocks, bonds and other securities.

Q: How can I contribute to the Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment Fund? 
A: Contributions are typically made in single or multiple lump sum gifts during a person’s life or as a bequest at death. Gifts may be offered in several ways:

  • As a tribute to a teacher or parish priest who made a meaningful contribution in your life…
  • In honor or in memory of parents, grandparents and other family members, friends and parishioners…
  • In expression of gratitude for the enrichment of our lives through the education received through attending Our Lady of Lourdes School or Church…

Donors’ requests for anonymity are strictly respected.

Recognition

In gratitude for donors’ generosity, Our Lady of Lourdes has established a means of publicly recognizing donors to the Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment Fund.

Recognition varies by donation level, with gifts of all sizes gratefully acknowledged.

Gifts of $2,500 and greater will be honored on our special recognition wall in our parish cloister walk. Members of our parish’s Order of Our Lady also will receive a framed Collector’s Edition reproduction of the original architect’s watercolor rendering of Our Lady of Lourdes in 1916 by William McMahon, architect. Those families will also be remembered in a special Mass on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (February 2nd) in perpetuity.
